Oud Oil (refined)

Pure, natural Australian Oud oil.

Distilled from natural agarwood resinous chip by hydro distillation. 

The current batch available is distilled from 16 years old trees when harvested and induced by our natural fungi for 3 years. 

Opening

This oil opens with a measured confidence — animalic, leathery, and gently fermented, with SIP note presence that is well-integrated rather than confronting. Leather, gourmand warmth, herbal undertones, and a soft hay-like character emerge in the first moments. For an Australian-distilled oil, this opening carries the hallmarks of a traditional profile while remaining approachable and refined. The opening phase, while pleasant and distinctive, leaves room for greater complexity and layering.

Heart

As the volatile top notes settle, the oil transitions into its heart — revealing fruity, floral, and sweetly balsamic qualities. Notes of fresh grass, soft rose, and dried date emerge with warmth. The heart demonstrates reasonable integration between its elements, though further depth and layering in this phase would elevate the composition toward its full potential. The transition from opening to heart is smooth, suggesting a carefully handled distillation.

Dry Down / Base Notes

The dry down reveals this oil's most distinctive characteristic — a remarkable luminosity that persists well into the base phase. Cedar, ginger, and metallic facets keep the scent alive and sparkling, unusual for a base stage. Labdanum adds soft resinous warmth, while musky and powdery notes round the composition into a cohesive finish. Evaluated across multiple sessions, the dry down is the strongest phase of this oil's evolution.
